The new Royal Adelaide Hospital

The South Australian Government is developing the new Royal Adelaide Hospital under the SA Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework.

Currently under construction, the 10 hectare site is set among the parklands at the west end of Adelaide's CBD. On completion in 2016, it will be the largest, most technologically advanced hospital in South Australia and one of the most advanced in Australia, employing close to 6,000 people and accommodating 85,000 inpatients per year.

The new Royal Adelaide Hospital is part of SA Health's broader health reform. Central to its design and operations is the State's patient centred Model of Care – with a focus on delivering better, more efficient care for all South Australians. The South Australian Government is committed to developing a healing, positive environment for patients and their families and providing an efficient, enjoyable place to work for its clinicians and other employees.

Connecting to the nearby South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) building, integrating with the city parklands and North Terrace, the new Royal Adelaide Hospital will provide a modern, purpose built health facility and commercial precinct for South Australians to enjoy.
